چکیده

In this paper we propose a multiple frequency harmonics model for analysis and synthesis of audio signals. The novelty of this model is that a composite sound can be represented by a few number (two or three) of frequency harmonics, each with time-varying fundamental frequency. We present the model and some key issues in tuning it. Results demonstrate that the model is valid and promising. It is convenient for timeand frequencyscale modifications and is of interest for low bit rate audio coding.

Estimating detailed spectral envelopes using articulatory clustering

This paper presents an articulatory-acoustic mapping where detailed spectral envelopes are estimated. During the estimation, the harmonics of a range of values are derived from the spectra of multiple voiced speech signals vocalized with similar articulator settings. The envelope formed by these harmonics is represented by a cepstrum, which is computed by fitting the peaks of all the harmonics ...

Identification of Nonstationary Audio Signals Using the FFT, with Application to Analysis-based Synthesis of Sound

In the analysis of sound (for synthesis), digitally sampled audio is processed to extract certain features. The resulting data can be synthesised to reproduce the original sound, or modified before synthesis to musically transform the sound. The analysis primarily uses a harmonic model, which considers a sound to be composed of multiple nonstationary sinusoids. The first stage of analysis is of...

F0 Estimation of Melody and Bass Lines in Real-world Musical Audio Signals

This paper describes a method for estimating the fundamental frequency (F0) of melody and bass lines in monaural audio signals containing sounds of various instruments. Most previous methods premised mixtures of a few sounds and had great difficulty dealing with audio signals sampled from compact discs. Our method does not rely on the unreliable F0’s component and obtains the most predominant F...

Estimation of harmonic interference parameters of surface-NMR signal using an adaptive method and residual signal power

Surface nuclear magnetic resonance (surface-NMR) method is a well-known tool for determining the water-bearing layers and subsurface resistivity structure. Harmonic interference is an inevitable interference in surface-NMR measurements. Accurate estimation of harmonic interference parameters (i.e., fundamental frequency, phase and amplitude) leads to better retrieval of power-line harmonics and...

Recognition of Multiple PQ Issues using Modified EMD and Neural Network Classifier

This paper presents a new framework based on modified EMD method for detection of single and multiple PQ issues. In modified EMD, DWT precedes traditional EMD process. This scheme makes EMD better by eliminating the mode mixing problem. This is a two step algorithm; in the first step, input PQ signal is decomposed in low and high frequency components using DWT. In the second stage, the low freq...
